Control the encounter by having more options.
De-Escalator combines a unique combination of high-output light and sound patterns to surprise and confuse an aggressor in order to process what is happening. That interruption buys you time to move, create distance, reach backup or leave. Here is what it does, why it is different from a strobe flashlight, and where its limits are.
The simplest explanation
In a fast-moving situation, a person is constantly taking in information, making sense of it, deciding what to do and acting. Tactical training often calls that cycle the OODA loop: observe, orient, decide, act.
De-Escalator is designed to deter that cycle. Light and sound activate together in changing patterns that are difficult for the eye and ear to settle into. The intended result is a short interruption in the person's ability to keep processing and continue with their plan of action.
The benefit to you is time and options.

What happens when you activate it
-
01
Your DSKL8R is most likely already focused on them. Immediate deployment with just another click.
-
02
The disruption mode activates high-output light and sound in unique patterns.
-
03
The changing sensory input makes it harder for them to keep observing, orienting and deciding normally.
-
04
You use the interruption to move, create space, get behind a barrier or reach help.
Why 21 feet matters
De-Escalator's disruption mode is designed for encounters inside 21 feet, where distance can disappear quickly. Even though the mode reaches farther, it was designed to be most effective at the distances where a few seconds can materially change your options.
Why it is more than a strobe flashlight
A conventional strobe relies on light alone and usually repeats a predictable pattern. DSKL8R combines light and sound, and both vary. That combination is the core of the proprietary design.

Training should be about the decision, not the button.
The device is intentionally simple to carry and activate. Training should focus on when you deploy De-Escalator, what the device can realistically do, and what the user should do with the time it creates.
For professional teams, the fastest way to understand De-Escalator is hands-on. Run it through typical situations and scenarios, and then you'll know.
FAQ
Is DSKL8R® a use-of-force tool?
DSKL8R uses light and sound. It does not launch a projectile, spray a chemical agent, deliver electrical current or require physical contact. How an agency classifies it is a decision for that agency.
How long does the effect last?
It varies by person and situation. Do not rely on a fixed duration.
Does it cause permanent injury?
The technology has been in use since 2014 with no reported injuries. Prolonged close-range exposure is unpleasant, but we have no reported incidents of permanent injury.
Can I carry it?
We are not aware of a state or country that specifically prohibits DSKL8R. That is not legal advice. Check the laws and policies that apply where you live, work and travel.
What does it cost?
